Fetal Blood sampling of a growth retarded baby

I did a blood sampling of a baby in uterus . The lady is suffering from very small and growth retarded baby. I did her sonography 30 days back and found that she is carrying a very small for gestational age baby with very less amniotic fluid. I could not identify any defect as the fluid was very less. Two days earlier she had an ultrasound at her city and the baby was alive with 999 gms at 28 weeks pregnancy. I planned to put steroid and deliver the baby today as they came to me today( with their consent of grave consequences of the baby’s life) But today when I did the sonograhy ,the baby is dead. I convinced them for blood sampling and did fetal blood sampling from fetal heart. We will do the karyotyping and infection status. ( any more investgation? suggested by anybody…..)
